In 2019, I, Jorge Domínguez, was working as a travel agent. However, at the start of that year, I moved on from that role. By the end of 2019, I proposed to my associate and friend that we start our own travel agency—one that would also offer luxury transportation, excursions, and special trips in the Dominican Republic, specifically in Punta Cana. And so, Punta Cana Transfer was born.
Like any new business, we faced challenges. At first, we struggled to define the exact direction of our company. Then, in early 2020, the pandemic forced us to temporarily pause our operations. Fortunately, since Punta Cana Transfer was still in its early stages, our financial risk was minimal. We decided to put our marketing efforts on hold and wait for the right moment to restart.
By the end of 2020, as the worst of the pandemic passed, we relaunched Punta Cana Transfer. One of our biggest hurdles was finding responsible and punctual drivers, but we managed to solve this issue. Additionally, with the guidance of experienced professionals in the tourism industry, we refined our company’s vision, goals, and marketing strategies. This quickly led to a growing client base.
