Internal Revenue Service

The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) is the institution responsible for the administration and/or collection of the main internal taxes and fees in the Dominican Republic. The DGII was created with the enactment of Law 166-97 on July 27, 1997, which merged the former General Directorates of Internal Revenue and Income Tax. On June 19, 2006, Law No. 227-06 was enacted, granting legal personality and functional, budgetary, administrative, technical, and patrimonial autonomy to the General Directorate of Internal Taxes.VISION To be an administration that is close to taxpayers, respected nationally and internationally for its high levels of quality, transparency, and innovation in service through simplified processes. MISSION To administer the internal tax system effectively and transparently, in accordance with the legal framework, facilitating voluntary compliance and contributing to the development of Dominican society.
